Hi there everyone,
Just to say hello, sorry for my long absence and a big thank you to Eleanor, Doreen and Jenni for their good wishes during my most recent stay in hospital. I have just escaped after nearly a month and am now being treated at home by the community intravenous nurse specialist as I have a midline in to receive my drugs.
Being home is wonderful, especially as the good weather seems to be holding out (hope I havent jinxed it now!)
I've had my very infected shoulder prosthesis removed, been washed out and got a cement spacer inserted loaded with antibiotics. IV antibiotics now once a day and oral ones every 6 six hours. I could sleep for England, but so happy that bit is over. It will be a long road, but I'll get there and now coeliac disease is definitely confirmed by biopsy things should be on the up.
I hadnt realised quite how poorly I had become over the last 8 months, but the staff in hospital were great and though in isolation, my room was always full of people dropping in for a chat, a laugh and sometimes a bit of an offload!
I do hope you are all as well as possible, though you probably wouldnt be on here if you were, so I send you all lots of warm hugs and get well wishes.
Thank you again forum friends,
Love,
Liz
